Magento 2: Localise your checkout

The Mollie module uses default Mollie settings to display payment methods in your checkout.

In addition to localisation features, the module offers options to customise the look and feel of your checkout.

Notice

If you have a multiple websites or stores, keep in mind that configuration settings apply to all levels of the hierarchy by default. Make sure you understand how sites, stores, and view scopes work↗, and change the scope↗ if needed.

Change payment method names

You can change the payment method names in your checkout, for example, to localise them for the countries you operate in.

1. Log in to Magento 2.

2. Go to Stores > Configuration.

3. Scroll to Mollie, select the arrow, and then Payment methods.

4. Select the payment method that you want to configure.

5. Enter the name of your choice in the Title field.

6. Select Save config.

Localise Mollie Checkout

In addition to localising your checkout to suit the countries that you operate in, you can also make sure that your customers see the same language when they are redirected to Mollie Checkout.

1. Log in to Magento 2.

2. Go to Stores > Configuration.

3. On the Configuration page, scroll to Mollie, select the arrow, and then Advanced.

4. Go to Triggers and languages.

5. In the Language payment page drop-down list, select one of the following options:

   • Auto-detect: The browser's locale that the customer is using.

   • Store locale: The locale that is active in the current store.

   • A specific locale.

6. Select Save config.

Rearrange the payment method display order

You can rearrange the display order of payment methods in your checkout so that your customers' favourite payment methods appear at the top of the list.

1. Log in to Magento 2.

2. Go to Stores > Configuration.

3. Scroll to Mollie, select the arrow, and then Payment methods.

4. Select the payment method that you want to configure.

5. In the Sort order field, enter a number for the payment method to indicate its place in the display order.

   For example, to display Bancontact as the first payment method in your checkout, enter 1 in its Sort order field.

6. Assign a number to each enabled payment method.

7. Select Save config.

Display different payment methods in each country

You can show different payment methods in each country, so that customers see their local payment methods in the checkout.

1. Log in to Magento 2.

2. Go to Stores > Configuration.

3. Scroll to Mollie, select the arrow, and then Payment methods.

4. Select the payment method that you want to configure.

5. In the Payment from applicable countries drop-down, select Specific countries.

6. In the Payment from specific countries drop-down, select the billing country, or countries.

7. Select Save config.
