Magento 2: Add a payment surcharge

Important

Not all countries allow you to charge customers a payment fee. Always check your local legislation before applying a surcharge.

Charge a fixed fee

  1. Log in to Magento 2.

  2. Go to Stores > Configuration.

  3. Scroll to Mollie, select the arrow, and then Payment methods.

  4. Select the payment method that you want to configure.

  5. In the Payment surcharge drop-down, select Fixed fee.

  6. In the Payment surcharge fixed amount field, enter an amount.

  7. In the Payment surcharge tax class drop-down, indicate whether you want the payment fee to be taxable.

    The available options depend on your store's tax settings↗.

  8. Select Save config.

Charge a percentage fee

  1. Log in to Magento 2.

  2. Go to Stores > Configuration.

  3. Scroll to Mollie, select the arrow, and then Payment methods.

  4. Select the payment method that you want to configure.

  5. In the Payment surcharge drop-down, select Percentage.

  6. In the Payment surcharge percentage field, enter a percentage.

  7. Optional: In the Payment surcharge limit field, set the maximum amount for the payment fee.

  8. In the Payment surcharge tax class drop-down, indicate whether you want the payment fee to be taxable.

  9. Select Save config.

Charge a combined fee

  1. Log in to Magento 2.

  2. Go to Stores > Configuration.

  3. Scroll to Mollie, select the arrow, and then Payment methods.

  4. Select the payment method that you want to configure.

  5. In the Payment surcharge drop-down, select Fixed fee and percentage.

  6. In the Payment surcharge fixed amount field, enter an amount.

  7. In the Payment surcharge percentage field, enter a percentage.

  8. Optional: In the Payment surcharge limit field, set the maximum amount for the payment fee.

  9. In the Payment surcharge tax class drop-down, indicate whether you want the payment fee to be taxable.

  10. Select Save config.
