WooCommerce: Select an API method

Mollie has two different APIs to process payments:

• The Payments API creates a simple payment for the full order amount.

• The Orders API creates an order that contains the customer's details and order lines for the purchased products. Mollie automatically creates a payment based on the order.

You can select which API method that you want to use for all payment methods. Depending on the API method you select, different features are available.

The Payments API provides the following features:

• You can change the information that's included in payment descriptions.

The Orders API provides the following features:

• You can change the order expiry period.

Tip

in3, Klarna payment methods, and vouchers always use the Orders API.

1. Log in to WooCommerce.

2. Go to WooCommerce > Settings.

3. Select the Mollie Settings tab.

4. Select Advanced.

   

5. Scroll down to the Select API method drop-down and select an API method from the list.

6. Select Save changes.
