WooCommerce: Customise payment descriptions

When a customer buys something from your store, Mollie attaches a description to the payment.

The description appears in your Mollie Dashboard under Transactions > Payments or Orders, and can appear on your customers' bank statements depending on the payment method used and the customer's bank.

Mollie includes the orderNumber in the description by default.

You can include more details in the description as needed, for example, to map payments to your accounting system.

Note

You can only change the payment description when you use the Payments API to process payments.

1. Log in to WooCommerce.

2. Go to WooCommerce > Settings.

3. Select the Mollie Settings tab.

4. Select Advanced.

   

5. Scroll down to the API Payment Description field.

6. Combine free text and the variables to create a description.

   To render:

   Casey Doe bought order #123456 at MegaProducts.com

   combine the following fields:

   {customerFirstname} {customerLastname} bought order #{orderNumber} at {customerCompany}

7. Select Save changes.
