PrestaShop: Test payment methods

Mollie for PrestaShop lets you make test payments to verify that your payment methods work correctly. You can test every possible payment status for each payment method.

Note

  • To test credit/debit cards, you need to use to use the test credentials provided by Mollie.

  • Apple Pay Direct only works in a production environment and on Apple devices or the Safari browser. You can still test it with the module in test mode.

  • Apple Pay Direct and the Bancontact QR code only work in live mode. This means you must test them using a real transaction.

Make a test payment

  1. Log in to PrestaShop.

  2. Select Mollie > Settings in the left navigation panel.

  3. In the Environment drop-down, select Test.

  4. Select Save.

  5. Make a test purchase in your PrestaShop shop.

    While making payment, a selection dialogue appears, enabling you to test various payment statuses.

  6. Select a payment status and click Continue.

    This takes you to a page that provides information about the payment's status. For example, if you selected Paid, the page confirms a successful payment.

Test Apple Pay Direct

To check whether Apple Pay Direct works, you need to make a real payment using your Apple Wallet.

Note

Apple Pay Direct only works with the Safari browser and on devices that support Apple Pay.

  1. Log in to PrestaShop.

  2. Select Mollie > Settings in the left navigation panel.

  3. In the Environment drop-down, select Live.

  4. Select Save.

  5. Select icon-eye.png View my shop in the top navigation bar.

  6. Select an item from your shop to open its product page.

  7. On the product page, click the Apple Pay button next to Add to cart.

  8. Follow the prompts from your device to complete the payment.

Test the Bancontact QR code

To check whether the Bancontact QR code works, you need to make a real payment with your Bancontact application.

  1. Log in to PrestaShop.

  2. Select Mollie > Settings in the left navigation panel.

  3. In the Environment drop-down, select Live.

  4. Select Save.

  5. Select icon-eye.png View my shop in the top navigation bar.

  6. Select an item from your shop and click Add to cart > Proceed to checkout.

  7. Complete the Personal information and Addresses forms and select a shipping method.

  8. Select Bancontact.

  9. Accept the terms of service and place your order.

    This opens a window that contains a QR code.

  10. Scan the QR code using the Bancontact app on your device.

  11. Follow the prompts from your Bancontact app to complete the payment.
