WooCommerce: Test payment methods

Mollie for WooCommerce lets you make test payments to verify that your payment methods work correctly. You can test every possible payment status for each payment method.

Important

  • To test credit/debit cards, you need to use to use the test credentials provided by Mollie.

  • Apple Pay Direct only works in a production environment and on Apple devices or the Safari browser. You can still test it with the plugin in test mode.

  • Apple Pay Direct only works in live mode. This means you must test it using a real transaction.

Make a test payment

  1. Log in to WooCommerce.

  2. Go to WooCommerce > Settings.

  3. Select the Mollie Settings tab.

  4. Select Enable test mode.

  5. Select Save changes.

  6. Make a test purchase in your WooCommerce store.

    While making payment, a selection dialogue appears, enabling you to test various payment statuses.

  7. Select a payment status and click Continue.

    This takes you to a page that provides information about the payment's status. For example, if you selected Paid, the page confirms a successful payment.

Test Apple Pay Direct

To check whether Apple Pay Direct works, you need to make a real payment using your Apple Wallet.

Note

Apple Pay Direct only works with the Safari browser and on devices that support Apple Pay.

  1. Log in to WooCommerce.

  2. Go to WooCommerce > Settings.

  3. Select the Mollie Settings tab.

  4. Deselect Enable Mollie test mode.

  5. Make a test purchase in your WooCommerce store.

Get status updates in test environments

Mollie automatically sends status updates to WooCommerce via webhooks when your store is live.

You can receive updates when your store is in test environments as well.

Tip

To get status updates in test environments, you need administrator access to your server.

To get status updates in test environments, add Mollie's IP address range to your allowlist.
